Swelling in Knees

I had knee arthroscopy due to grade 3 meniscal tear and partial Meniscectomy 3 weeks ago. I feel a certain kind of pain and irritation while folding my knee while lying. I want to ask whether swelling on the knee at this stage is normal? Also, which kind of physiotherapy should I start? I want an over the counter advise as my appointment is due within a week. These days I am wearing hinges support as per advice of my surgeon and taking Serratiopeptidase and Lornoxicam.

Dear Patient,

See we can't say for sure, it depends on how much swelling you have and if its red. If the swelling is a lot and restricting movement then it maybe inusual. However during recovery phase 6-8wks maybe needed for swelling to subside. The type of physiotherapy must have been prescribed by your surgeon himself. You can elevate, rest and ice the joint- these measures will make a significant improvement to your recovery. Continue your medications as prescribed.
