When Not to Use Fexet Tablet
- Known allergy or hypersensitivity to fexofenadine hydrochloride or any inactive ingredient in the tablet.

Risks and warnings
- Kidney disease: Fexet tablet is cleared more slowly in patients with renal impairment. A dose adjustment may be required.
- Liver disease: Fexet tablet is generally safe for patients with liver conditions, as fexofenadine undergoes minimal hepatic metabolism. A doctor's advice is still recommended.
- Pregnancy: Safety data in pregnant women is limited. Fexet tablet should only be used during pregnancy when clearly necessary and prescribed by a doctor.
- Breastfeeding: Fexet tablet may pass into breast milk. A healthcare provider must be consulted before use while nursing.
- Elderly patients (65 years and above): Older adults may be more sensitive to fexofenadine's effects. Age-related kidney changes may require dose
modifications.
- Driving and operating machinery: Fexet tablet causes less sedation than first-generation antihistamines, but mild dizziness is possible. Caution is advised when driving or handling heavy equipment.
- Phenylketonuria (PKU): Some fexofenadine formulations may contain phenylalanine. Patients with PKU should confirm the formulation with their pharmacist before use.
- Urine drug testing: Fexet tablet has been associated with false-positive results for tramadol in some urine drug screening panels. Inform the testing facility about this medicine before any test.
- Antacids: Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum reduce the absorption of the Fexet tablet. A gap of at least 2 hours should be maintained between the two.
How to use Fexet Tablet 120mg?
- Adults and children 12 years and older: 120 mg once daily for allergic rhinitis.
- For chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults: 180 mg once daily or as directed by a doctor.
- Children under 12 years: Fexet tablet should not be given without a doctor's recommendation.
- Maximum daily dose for adults: 180 mg.
- Swallow the Fexet tablet whole with a full glass of water.
- Fexet tablet may be taken with or without food.
- Never take Fexet tablet with fruit juice, grapefruit, orange, or apple juice, as these reduce absorption.
- Do not stop taking the Fexet tablet without consulting your doctor, even if symptoms improve.

Drug Interactions
- Erythromycin may increase blood levels of fexofenadine by inhibiting CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein transporters. Monitor for increased side effects.
- Ketoconazole similarly raises fexofenadine concentrations in the blood. Use together with caution and under medical supervision.
- Rifampin may reduce the effectiveness of the Fexet tablet by lowering fexofenadine blood levels.
- Opioid medications combined with the Fexet tablet may increase sedation. Use only under a doctor's guidance.
- Sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, or anti-anxiety medicines may worsen drowsiness when combined with the Fexet tablet.
- Metoclopramide intranasal should be avoided alongside fexofenadine. Consult your doctor if both are prescribed.
- Antacids with magnesium or aluminum reduce fexofenadine absorption. Take the Fexet tablet at least 2 hours before or after antacids.
Storage Conditions
- Store Fexet tablet at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C.
- Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children and pets.
- Do not use the Fexet tablet after the expiry date printed on the strip or carton.
