Bio
Dr. Mian Sajid Nisar is one of the most experienced doctors in Lahore. He is a prominent
Consultant Physician, Hepatologist, Gastroenterologist and Diabetologist. He is a doctor who
wears many hats; he has over 28 years of experience of practice and has also taught for 25 of
those years. He has furthermore published a book and many research articles in his areas of
interest. He is often a guest speaker and supervisor at workshops and seminars.
Qualifications
Dr. Mian Sajid Nisar has perfected his qualifications. He completed his MBBS from Allama Iqbal
Medical College. He then received his MRCP (Ire) from the College of Physicians Republic of
Ireland. He furthermore completed his MRCP from the UK as well as his FRCP. He also passed
his PPSC exam as Professor of Medicine with top merit in Punjab. He is a member of the
Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and temporarily the General Medical Council for both the
UK and Ireland.
Experience
Dr. Mian Sajid Nisar has rich experience in both teaching and practicing. He has taught for a
total of 25 years and is currently the Professor of Medicine and Head of the department of
medicine. He has taught clinical teaching programs at both the undergraduate and postgraduate
levels at various universities. He was also a Medical tutor at Royal College Physician and
Surgeon Ireland. He is currently offering consultations at Omar Hospital & Cardiac Center and
Mian Medical Day Care Center.
Activism
Dr. Mian Sajid Nisar has been a part of many conferences and given many interviews to
improve practices in his field and to help the public take more control over their health. In a
video for GERD awareness week, he spoke about gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is a
common illness that many people face; the main reason for this disease is being overweight,
eating unhealthy and oily foods and consuming alcohol. Patients will experience pain and
discomfort after eating food when experiencing this illness. They must eat dinner a few hours
before sleeping and drink water after a meal in order to avoid this discomfort, as well as
avoiding oily food and alcohol.
Special Interests
Dr. Mian Sajid Nisar has a special interest in teaching and furthering research in his area of
work. He has published a book on Cell signaling and its complication. Outside of this, he has
also published countless research articles for different medical journals throughout his career.
