Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad

Prof Mumtaz Ahmad has over 32yrs of experience working in Public Sector Hospitals. He is currently the Head of Department of Urology & Renal Transplantation in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi He deals in all kinds of medical problems related to Kidney stones,Ureter & Bladder stones, Prostate Enlargement, Bladder Tumor, Difficulty to urinate & all kinds of male infertility. He is also the Co-Opted Member of the District Vigilance Committee for Human Organ Transplant Functions in Punjab. He has revolutionized the management of renal stone from open surgery to totally minimally invasive surgery (PCNL), with short hospital stay,early to work.He has been successful in providing the standard care treatment to patients with renal stones with hard work,dedication and commitment. He Has Performed 301 Standard PCNL cases, 10 Mini PCNL & few Micro PCNL from September 2014 to August 2016 .In addition 195 semi rigid URS has been performed for ureteric stones. His PCNL experience in Pakistan was presented in International Alliance of Urolithiasis conferences in Kathmundu,Nepal 2014 and Guiyang, China in November 2015, SIUT conference December 2015, Beijing China July 2016 and August 2016 in Urumqi China. He has organized 8 International Workshops of Urology in which International Faculty of many countries like China,Nepal,India,UK,Italy,UAE,Jordan,Germany,South Africa & Saudi Arabia were invited. He is the examiner for College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan from many years and is the President Elect of Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons Rawalpindi/Islamabad Chapter.
