Diclofenac sodium is a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, which reduces the production of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling and fever. When given intramuscularly, the drug reaches therapeutic blood levels faster than an oral tablet, making it useful for sudden and severe pain episodes.

Lidocaine hydrochloride is added as a local anesthetic that numbs the tissue around the injection site. This combination lowers the discomfort that diclofenac alone can cause when injected into muscle, and it also gives a brief additional numbing effect that some patients find helpful during acute flares.

Clinicians generally reserve this combination for short term use, often no more than a few consecutive days, because prolonged NSAID injection use raises the risk of gastrointestinal irritation and kidney strain. Patients with ulcer disease, bleeding disorders or significant kidney impairment are usually advised to avoid it or use it only under close medical supervision.

How to use Aaram Injection?

• Administered by a healthcare professional as a deep intramuscular injection
• Usual adult dose is one ampoule (2ml) once daily
• Not intended for self administration at home
• Avoid repeated injections at the same site

Drug Interactions

• Blood Thinners: Combined use with warfarin or other anticoagulants raises bleeding risk
• Other NSAIDs: Taking additional NSAIDs together increases the chance of stomach irritation
• ACE Inhibitors: May reduce the blood pressure lowering effect and strain the kidneys
• Diuretics: Effectiveness of water pills may be reduced
• Lithium: Blood lithium levels may rise to unsafe amounts
