Cefspan Syrup Uses

The chemical composition of Cefspan is cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic. Cefixime is a cephalosporin that belongs to the group of beta-lactam antibiotics. They work by inhibiting the synthesis of the cell wall of bacteria, hence making it difficult for them to survive. Antibiotics like Cefspan can only fight against bacteria. They are not effective against viruses. Therefore, they are given to treat bacterial infections only. Cefspan is used for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections like urinary tract infections, sinusitis, and otitis media, etc.

Risks and warnings

Generally, Cefspan is well tolerated. However, you should know its risks and warnings so that you do not take it when the risk is greater than the benefit.

• Pregnancy and breastfeeding

• Allergic to cefixime
