How to use Eprin tablet 300mg (1000's Pack)?
- Pain or fever relief in adults generally uses 300mg to 600mg every four to six hours, with a doctor set daily limit.
- Heart protection doses are usually much lower and this 300mg strength needs a doctor's specific instruction for that purpose.
- Food alongside the tablet lowers the chance of stomach irritation.
- Children and teenagers with a fever from a viral illness should avoid aspirin because of Reye syndrome risk, a serious concern during dengue and flu season in Pakistan.
- Aspirin should be paused before planned surgery only on a doctor's advice.
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin and Other Blood Thinners: Combined use raises bleeding risk significantly.
- Ibuprofen and Other NSAIDs: Regular use together can blunt aspirin's heart protective effect and raise stomach bleeding risk.
- Methotrexate: Aspirin can raise methotrexate blood levels, increasing toxicity risk.
- ACE Inhibitors: Aspirin may reduce the blood pressure lowering effect of these medicines.
- Corticosteroids: Combined use raises the chance of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
Risks and warnings
- Dengue Fever: Aspirin should be avoided when dengue is suspected, since it raises bleeding risk during a common Pakistani seasonal illness.
- Stomach Ulcer History: Patients with a past ulcer or gastrointestinal bleed need medical clearance before regular aspirin use.
- Children Under 16: Reye syndrome, a rare but serious liver and brain condition, links to aspirin use during viral infections in children.
- Bleeding Disorders: Aspirin thins the blood further and needs caution in anyone with a clotting disorder or on other blood thinners.
