Drug Interactions

Levofloxacin interacts with several common medicines and supplements.

• Antacids, calcium, iron, zinc: Reduce levofloxacin absorption if taken together, so space doses by at least 2 hours.
• Warfarin: Can increase bleeding risk, so clotting levels should be monitored closely.
• NSAIDs: Combined use raises the risk of central nervous system effects and seizures.
• Corticosteroids: Increase the risk of tendon rupture, especially in older adults.
