About Mefenamic Acid suspension 50mg
Mefenamic Acid Suspension is an NSAID used to relieve fever and mild to moderate pain in children.
Mefenamic Acid Suspension 50mg Uses
- Fever in infants and young children
- Mild to moderate pain relief in children
- Teething pain and discomfort
- Fever and soreness after vaccination
- Earache and throat pain in children
- Muscle aches and minor injuries in children
Doctors and pediatricians in Pakistan often prefer a suspension form of mefenamic acid for young children because tablets are hard to swallow at that age. This format allows accurate weight based dosing, which is especially important for children under 5 years old.
Pediatricians in Pakistan usually calculate the dose based on the child's exact body weight rather than age alone. This lowers the chances of giving too little or too much medicine, since children can vary widely in weight at the same age.
Doctors also point out that suspensions act faster than tablets in small children, since they are already in liquid form and get absorbed more easily. This makes them a practical choice for sudden fever or pain that needs quick relief at home.
