What Experts Say
Paracetamol is one of the most trusted fever and pain medicines used in homes across Pakistan. Pediatricians often recommend it as a first choice for children because it works well and has a strong safety record when the correct dose is used.
During Pakistan's hot summer months and dengue season, many parents reach for paracetamol syrups like Reliefal to manage fever at home. Doctors advise avoiding aspirin or ibuprofen if dengue is suspected, since paracetamol is the safer option until a blood test confirms the diagnosis.
Even though this medicine is available without a prescription, dosing by your child's exact weight matters. Giving too much too often is one of the most common causes of accidental paracetamol overdose in young children, so always use the syringe or cup that comes with the bottle.
