What Experts Say
Rosuvastatin is considered one of the more potent statins available, meaning it can lower LDL cholesterol significantly even at a low 5mg dose.
This makes it a common first choice for patients who need strong cholesterol control but cannot tolerate higher doses of other statins, including many high risk cardiac patients. Doctors often start therapy at this lower strength and adjust based on lipid response and tolerance.
Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death in Pakistan, largely driven by high cholesterol, diabetes, and sedentary lifestyles. Taking this medicine daily as prescribed, along with periodic liver and muscle enzyme checks, helps patients get the full benefit while catching any side effects early.
