How to use Uperio 200mg?

• Take one tablet twice daily, roughly 12 hours apart.
• Swallow with water, with or without food.
• Do not take within 36 hours of stopping an ACE inhibitor.
• Have blood pressure, kidney function and potassium checked as advised.
• Do not stop suddenly without your cardiologist's guidance.

Drug Interactions

Uperio interacts with several medicines that affect blood pressure and potassium.

• ACE inhibitors: Combining raises the risk of severe angioedema and is not allowed.
• Potassium sparing diuretics and potassium supplements: Raises the risk of dangerously high potassium.
• NSAIDs: Can reduce kidney function and blunt the blood pressure lowering effect.
• Lithium: Sacubitril valsartan can raise lithium levels, increasing toxicity risk.

Risks and warnings

• Angioedema: Seek emergency care for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing.
• Low blood pressure: Can cause dizziness or fainting, especially when starting treatment.
• High potassium: Regular blood tests are needed to monitor potassium and kidney function.
• Pregnancy: Avoid in pregnancy, as it can cause serious harm to the unborn baby.
• ACE inhibitor use: Never combine with an ACE inhibitor due to angioedema risk.
