Vermox Tablet Uses

Vermox Tablet Benefits
- Clears multiple worm species with one treatment course
- Works locally in the gut with minimal absorption into the bloodstream
- Simple twice daily dosing schedule for a short 3 day course
- Helps restore normal nutrient absorption disrupted by parasites
- Suitable for most adults and children above 2 years under medical guidance
What Experts Say
Mebendazole works by binding to the beta tubulin protein inside worm cells. This blocks the parasite's ability to absorb glucose, which is its main energy source. Without glucose uptake, the worm becomes immobilized and eventually dies within the intestine over several days.
The 100mg strength is designed for a twice daily, three day course for most roundworm, whipworm and hookworm infections, since sustained drug exposure improves cure rates for these species. Pinworm infection responds to a single 100mg dose because the parasite's lifecycle in the lower bowel needs a shorter contact period.
Mebendazole has poor systemic absorption, so it acts mainly within the gut lumen rather than the whole body, which keeps its side effect profile relatively mild for most patients. Clinical evidence supports repeating the course after two to three weeks if eggs or symptoms persist, since reinfection from contaminated hands or food is common.
