Table of contents
Zyloric tablet is used to decrease high uric acid levels in the blood (hyperuricemia). It can therefore help in the treatment and prevention of conditions such as gout and kidney stones. Here's how it works: Zyloric (allopurinol) is used to keep blood uric acid levels below the saturation point at which monosodium urate crystals precipitate. It reduces acute flares, extends the asymptomatic period, and gradually dissolves tophi, thereby preventing further crystal deposition in joints and soft tissue by lowering the baseline urate load. It is not an analgesic; therefore, an anti-inflammatory cover (e.g., NSAID, colchicine) is typically provided during the first 3-6 months as serum urate is being lowered. Zyloric (allopurinol) lowers uric acid levels in blood and urine, helping prevent kidney stone formation. It does so by inhibiting an enzyme that generates uric acid, the primary compound associated with kidney stones. The lower concentration of uric acid results in a lower potential for it to crystallize in the urine. The medicine prevents new kidney stones from forming and helps dissolve existing stones. This mode of action reduces the risk of kidney stone formation and promotes kidney health. Patients undergoing radiation treatment or chemotherapy are susceptible to high uric acid levels. Zyloric can be prescribed to these patients to control uric acid levels and keep them within the normal range.Zyloric Tablet Uses
