Asthama and Allergy

My son has the history of eczema and now asthma. Doctor suggested him lacto grow 3. He is active and ok but doesn’t speak. I give him fresh milk but doctor said that milk is not beneficial for kids who suffer from allergies. I asked her that can i give my son pediasure but she said no. Is it necessary that I should give him lacto grow 3 or should I give him pediasure?

Dear Patient,

According to my research, I haven't found much difference of pediasure over lactogrow and vice versa. However, I did come across articles relating to allergy-prone kids showing poor weight gain on pediasure. If your doctor is insisting you use lactogrow then I would ask you to trust him or take a 2nd opinion from a specialist. After 2 years, you will have to switch to fresh milk. If your child doesn't speak as well perhaps try giving him no screen time(phones laptops), find interactive toys with him using alphabets and numbers and if not satisfied try meeting with a professional Speech therapist.
