Baby not Sleeping

My daughter is 2 years old but she sleeps very less during the night, wakes up after every hour or two and remains restless. Can you please tell how can I make her sleep peacefully and for a longer duration. Can I give her phenergen, I have heard a doctor on tv who suggested it for kids. please help

Dear Patient,

I'm not going to recommend syrups to make a child sleep. Your child needs ample physical activity- take her to parks, open areas where she can run and play- and shorter/no daytime naps so that they are exhausted at bedtime. Before sleep, massage her body thoroughly with warm oil, clean her feet, hands, face and genital areas with warm water and soap, make her wear clean clothes and fresh pamper, maintain good temperature of room and keep a humidifier in her room. Give her half a cup warm milk.
