Breastfeed

Asked for Female, 31 years

I doesn't breastfeed my son regularly. Due to some reasons several days without breastfeeding him now and concerned that the milk that has been produced is now 'bad.' Members of family (mother, aunt, older sister and sister-in-law) have supported this idea so I'm curious about whether this is a possibility. If you don't breastfeed, is your body still producing breast milk?? Should i continue feeding?

Dear Patient,

If you don't breastfeed at all, the milk will eventually stop. If you wanna keep giving your milk and not wean him, you need to regularly express your milk using a manual/electric pump and you can discard this. the mother's milk is not like other milk, it doesn't turn bad. the consistency and type changes but if you continue feeding it will turn back to its original form much like the milk it was before and suiting the kid's needs. You can continue feeding your child till he's 2 yrs old.
