Chest and lung pain

I am 21 weeks pregnant. I am having chest and lung pain on the right side along with trouble to take a deep breath. I am suffering to catch my breath. I went to the ER and they did a blood test called D-dimer. It came back positive for a lung blood clot on the left side. But, the doctor said it could be false because of my pregnancy. Please help. What should be our course of action?

Dear Patient,

D-dimer is a sign of a state of the body when blood is more likely to clot due to the thickness of blood. This can happen in pregnancy & is common to find it high in such state. However to rule out an actual lung clot Venous ultrasound should be done before a CT angiogram is considered.
For general Lung clot suspect, “LMW-Heparin' is a form of treatment and delivery plans will need to be discussed to prepare from before. Plz, consult a gynecologist n pulmonologist in the clinic with ur reports for the detailed response.
