Dry Skin

My niece skin is very dry and sensitive. Sometimes its soft as a feather and sometimes its so dry and flaky and red rashes appear on her skin. She's an active kid and her diet very good but I think its genetic problem as her mother used to eat uncooked rice in her pregnancy all the time. Please suggest what should we do. We tried everything lotions, vaseline, coconut oil, etc. She 1.5 years old

Use milk based shower gel/soap for her- many are available for kids like a dove, Cetaphil, some Johnson n Johnson shower gels as well.
Apply physiogel to her damp skin after bathing. It will improve in a few months hopefully.
