If you need to get tested at the lab you need 8hrs fasting minimum. You can have dinner at 9pm and go for a blood test as soon as you wake up. You can keep some snack in your bag and eat immediately after your test. Regular Water and medication (except diabetic medicines) can be taken during this period of fasting.
Alternatively if you have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and need to test sugar daily, you only need two hours of fasting minimum and need to test with the sugar device at home, which involves a small needle prick and two drops of blood.
