Fever and Sore Throat

My daughter is one year old. She got a fever and sore throat due to cold. I had given her temperamine syrup.. Now her temperature is normal but she got chest congestion and her throat is hurting badly from last 2 days. Please suggest what to do?

Dear Patient,

For throat ache you can give panadol/calpol syrup 1/2tsp. Give warm fluids like yakhni, fresh haldi cooked in water mixed with lemon and pure honey. Give her 1/2tsp syrup Zyrtec for 5days. Fill a small room with steam and sit with your child there for 10-15mins 2-3times a day or nebulize with 2cc norsaline instead.
Apply 1 drop norsaline nasal drops in both nostrils before bed n every feed.
Put a humidifier in your room for her to ease her at bedtime.
