Fibroids in Uterus

My mother is having Fibroids in uterus. A doctor recommended surgery for removal of uterus and the other one recommended DNC! It’s confusing. Any advice from gynae here?

Dear Patient,

I'm sorry to hear this. Assuming your mother has crossed menopause and there is no future pregnancies to consider, a fibroid that is causing considerable symptoms or is large enough is normally removed preferably with the uterus. Dnc is done for miscarriages etc, not fibroid.
Depending on the type of fibroid/patients health/etc either medications are given or uterus is removed. Hope this helps.
