Foot wear for ulcer

My mother had a foot ulcer in May. Which is now healed. She is using medicated slipper now. My cousin just bought a medicated chapal for her from America. Can she use that now? It will or will not harm her foot because it is not made from the hospital she has been treated? They use to make a hole on the effected area which is now healed
