High fever

Asked for Male, 9 years

My 4 years old son is having on & off high fever (more than 103) for last 4 days & he has also sore throat & he is taking antibiotics but that is not enough to reduce his fever. So what could b the reason n what should we do??

Dear Patient,

Most likely there's an infection causing the fever. The reason for it not improving maybe underdosing or a need to change antibiotics. You should take a second opinion or reconsult your doctor and they will change treatment.
