Hip and Leg Pain

Last week I started having leg pain spreading out to hip pain. MRI, X rays and CT scan show a slight herniated disc between L4/ L5, due to whichsciatic nerve is being pressed, resulting in immense pinches in the lower left hip and all over the leg to the toe. doctors say that I also have an infection, although this wasn't evident from radiology. pain killers, antibiotics are being injected 3 times a day.another doctor said there is no infection. how to know if i have infection or not?

Dear Patient,

Please attach your MRI reports so we can see if there are any signs of inflammation or infection. Normally, CBC shows raised white blood cells and fluid taken from the concerned area shows infection. If one has a spinal/brain infection- spinal fluid is taken. A blood culture shows a blood infection. Urine or stool culture shows infection in urine or stool.
Constant fever is a sign of infection as well. Hope this helps.
