Indigestion in Pregnancy

I am 8 months pregnant and I suffer from indigestion. Whatsoever I eat does not digest properly. Due to this I feel nausea and abdominal cramps. I got myself checked from the doctor. He gave me a 5 days prescription and it hasn't worked on me yet. My question is, is it harmful for the baby? What could be causing this condition? What precautions should I take?

Dear Patient,

I'm sorry to hear this. Pregnancy is just a lot of change for the body and generally an uncomfortable condition. Reflux happens due to the baby and uterus putting upwards pressure on the stomach. There is nothing you can do except have more yogurt, mint, digestive n light foods. Take the treatment prescribed by your gynae. Eat in small portions, walk for 10-15 mins after each meal, consume lots of water and lie down propped up on 2-3 pillows to avoid reflux. You can chew fennel leaves for some more digestion. This isn't harmful to your child.
