iron deficiency anemia

Asked for Female, 22 years

Her case is of iron deficiency anemia now and treatment has been started. Since its important to find out the cause of anemia, so doctor advice tests for celiac disease, stool test for occult blood and vitamin D. Results for first 2 was normal, but vitamin is petty low .So should we just go for the treatment or investigate it more?

Without scans of the reports and details of treatment, I cannot guide you sufficiently. Vitamin d deficiency is the number one deficiency in Pakistan along with iron def anemia. Both cause fatigue and lethargy. Treatment for both is different and fixing BOTH problems will be the cure.
