Irregular Periods

Kindly suggest what kind supplements are suitable for a girl in her late teens who has a problem of very irregular periods. There are huge gaps and then when the cycle starts, it continues for days and days. She is leaving the town and returning to her village for good. I think she has a hormonal problem too, but is it advisable to give her the stock of supplements that can last for a good few months. and if yes what kind of supplements should I get for her?

Dear Patient,

You could give her syrup maltofer 1tbsp once a day for 6-8 weeks once every six months. You could also give her 1tbsp lederplex daily longterm for extra energy.
It's possible to have such cycles, hormonal treatment may be given if there are PCOS. You should take her to a gynecologist and see if she needs some tests to figure out if there are any serious problems.
