Kid is Pale

My 5yr old kid is eating paper and dust , I feel his iron is low becoause he is pale in color . From yesterday he is having fever . What should I do, in past whenever I visited a pediatrician he always gave me iron syrups, I don't want to give iron syrups again n again, what I should give him for eating so that his own body can produce iron , he is a picky eater

Dear Patient,

Have you ever noticed any abnormal smell or consistency of his stool? Is he frequently diarrheal or constipated? does he complain of stomachache often?
Have you heard of the condition called 'PICA'?
We can give him syrup vermox. Give him half a bottle of the syrup and there is no need to repeat the dose. In addition, if a child's iron levels are low there is no harm taking iron syrup intermittently. alternatively give him foods rich in iron, dark green leafy vegetables, red meat (beef> mutton), dates, figs.
