Loss of Appetite

Asked for Male, 12 years

My son has not been eating and drinking since a few days. He doesn’t consume milk nor anything solid. I have to force him to drink milk once a day so that he doesn’t get weaker. I have no idea what to do. Kindly, help me with what might be causing this? What can I do to overcome this?

Dear Patient,

Does he complain of any stomach ache? Does he have any constipation, nausea or diarrhea? It may be that he has worms in the stomach. Vermox 100mg/5ml can be given as 1 tsp twice a day for three days. The dose doesn't need to be repeated. You can also give syrup lederplex 1 tsp twice a day for a month to increase his appetite. If he is experiencing any fever, or he doesn't seem to get hungrier kindly see a specialist.
