My mom has been prescribed Avelox 400mg three times a day. but her medicine says to avoid dairy products. She had taken two boil eggs (egg whites only) in her food just now. Can she take this medication or she should wait for a few Hours? Are boiled egg whites included in dairy?

Dear Patient,

Avelox is moxifloxacin, which can be taken with or without foods. If precaution is advised you can wait for two hrs after any meal and take it. Dairy is usually milk and its products but may include eggs.
