Medicine for Weight Loss

Hello, I want to ask my gynecologist gave me Glucophage for weight loss after delivery as I've issues in reducing weight (thyroid, etc) with diet and exercise while I'm breastfeeding too, my LO is 4 months old. I want to ask is it safe to use it while breastfeeding. My doctor advised me but I need more suggestions.
