Menstural Irregularities

I had a IUI a few days back and my period date is even more late but my bleeding started and they are more like spots when I urinate. Should I consider it as period or implantation? Should I take Lezra?

Dear Patient,

In case your gynecologist didn't mention, once you place an IUD its normal to have delayed, heavy, irregular or painful periods for up to 6mo to 1yr. In this period you may even experience just irregular spotting.
The IUD is implanted on the uterus lining which is the same place from where the menstrual bleed occurs and hence the periods can be affected.
I would not recommend taking Lezra but you can consult a gynecologist if you need further consultation.
