NLD Block

Asked for Female, 23 years

My little sister had NLD block. 3 months ago she underwent DCR surgery. Recently she has complained of excessive tearing from the same eye and swelling. The doctors prescribed her antibiotics which she took for 15 days but her condition is still not improving. First, she has to go through surgery and now this. What can I do to help her? Thank you.

Dear Patient,

The surgery was a necessary step to correct her NLD block. Sometimes during these procedures or after there can be a slight infection causing pain/excess tears. Antibiotics should cure them. If not they will need to be changed. If you feel dissatisfied you can consult another ENT for a second opinion.
