Ointment for Feet

Few weeks back someone from acquaintance got her feet stuck with a nail (keel). She consulted doctor and he prescribed medicine and ointment but the pain stays same. Now after weeks, the foot get swollen and she’s facing severe pain. Should she change her ointment or should she pay a visit to a specialist?

Dear Patient,

Did the nail stay in her foot or was it removed? Seems like the foot is getting infected further. Please ask her to take Tablet augmentin 625 mg three times a day for a week. Take Tablet Diclo 50mg thrice a day for a week. Meanwhile set up an appointment with a specialist and visit if this doesn't settle. If the nail has been removed soak foot in lukewarm water twice or thrice a day. Apply Xyloaid ointment to the wound after drying it. Keep wound clean and dry.
