Post Surgery Checkup

Asked for Female, 36 years

I had a C section 2 months ago and I was given my first bath 26 hours after my Surgery. Is that safe? My urine bag was empty while I was laying but it filled right after I sat down and the nurses had to empty it. My question here is that could this have harmed my bladder? Should I get it checked?

Dear Patient,

Having a bath after c section is completely safe and hygeinic. Im not sure what you mean by harming your bladder and urine bag may have filled suddenly due to a temporary blockage of flow. Once the blockage was relieved the urine must have gushed out. If you want you can ask a nephrologist for her opinion but we do not think any of this is abnormal or worrisome unless you deliver fever, shivers, infection, etc.
