Asked for Female, 36 years

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant. I have been having bleeding from nose from the last two days. Within 2 days, it has happened 5 times. I would like to specify that I have a history of low blood pressure and blood sugar. I thought may be it’s because of high blood pressure. I have been monitoring myself regularly but the results are nothing but normal. Would just like to know if I should seek medical attention or is it normal?

Dear Patient,

If its unusually dry where you live this could happen. If the nose bleed doesn't stop on resting and lying flat with head hanging down and pinching your nose for 10-30mins or excessive quantity of blood then you should seek medical care. If you normally bleed through the nose then this is just an exacerbation of that. However, having low bp is better in pregnancy. Keep monitoring yourself and don't stress out too much about this. To be on the safe side perform a CBC test.
