Severe Cough

My 5 Y/O son who is a type1 as well has a really bad cough. He had a viral fever about 15 days back now fever has gone but the cough is still there. I have tried different medicines as we as home remedies but nothing seems to be working, can someone please tell me of something effective which cures his cough asap. It doesn't even let him sleep peacefully.

What did you mean by type 1? Type 1 of what?
Have you considered taking him to a chest or allergen specialist who can find out the root problem of his persistent cough? Keep a humidifier in his room at bedtime, make sure to nebulize him alternately with 1cc Atom n Clenil A diluted in 2cc normal saline. Once all the phlegm comes out the coughing will stop.
