Solid food for stools

My baby is having green mucous stool from start even when he was only on mother feed. First we thought it was normal because he only feeds for 4-5 minutes and always takes lactose rich fore milk and can produce this type of stool. But now after introducing solid food his stools are still not normal in fact frequency has increased. Kindly, help me on what is going on?

Dear Patient,

Every child has unique pooping habits. If he’s used to having 8-10 stools per day then that's normal for him. It will eventually settle down. What you can do is, however, to give him binding foods like banana, applesauce, sagoodana, khichri, yogurt. Even a small quantity of any one of these foods/day will help make his stools firmer and less frequent. You can even give 1/2tsp of ispaghol to him every day.
Be patient and it should settle down hopefully. Keep an eye out for fever, vomiting, etc.
