Swelling of Feet

My aunt’s foot is swelling. No such medical history just few years ago she had the same problem and doctor said her tissues are damage and this time they diagnosed the same and has referred her to the doctor of joints and tissues. The doctor also told that her sugar is on border line and uric acid is high. What should I do next?

Dear Patient,

Is the swelling on one or both feet? Did the doctor prescribe any treatment for sugar and uric acid, if so what is it?
Did you meet an orthopedic then as per referral? What did he suggest?
I would suggest the patient keeps her feet elevated above the level of the heart as much as possible. She should avoid beef and sugary foods. She should brisk walk for 20-30 mins/ day for 3 days/week. Does she have high blood pressure? Monitor her bp regularly and start medications. Dec salt in her food. She’ll feel better soon
