Wet Umbilical Area

15 day old newborn baby boy. Cord stump fallen off on 13th day. But the umblical area is still wet and very light pink water is there. Using spirit to dry it off but it is still not completely dried. Can we use cicatrin powder to dry it??? Or keep using spirit and wait more?

Dear Patient,

You will have to refer back to your pediatrician. Please do not use cicatrin powder. Clean with a swab and apply polyfax.
You may need “quatry' to dry this and a pediatric doctor can guide you better on this. Good luck
