Dr. Saliha Ishaq is a highly acclaimed & well-renowned health care
professional who is considered among the top Rheumatologists in Pakistan
and has the honor of being one of the five American-trained
Rheumatologists in the country. She is a proficient Internal medicine
specialist with the ability to handle a wide range of services such as early
arthritis diagnosis & management, osteoporosis screening & management,
soft tissue rheumatism, musculoskeletal disorders, polymyalgia
rheumatism, gout, fibromyalgia, vasculitis, soft tissue injections &

Dr. Saliha Ishaq has an extremely decorated academic background with
numerous qualifications & degrees. She is a proud graduate of Dow Medical
College, Karachi, from where she graduated with Honors. She pursued her
Postgraduate Medical Training in the USA, Residency in Internal Medicine
and later her Fellowship in Rheumatology for additional two years.
She is an American Board Certified Internist & Rheumatologist who is
registered with the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (Now PMC) and is
also a member of the American College of Rheumatology, American
Medical Association & American College of Physicians, earning a
distinguished reputation in the field of Rheumatology due to her expert
finesse.
Experience
Dr. Saliha has ample experience ranging over 18 Years in her line of work
and is currently offering consultations at South City Hospital and National
Medical Centre, both of which are located in Karachi.
She is also serving as Lecturer & Consultant Rheumatologist in Aga Khan
University Hospital where she thoroughly enjoys sharing her experiences
with aspiring doctors to prepare them for future endeavors.
Other than this, she is performing the roles of General Secretary of
Pakistan, Society of Rheumatology and as Examiner in CPSP (College of
Physicians and surgeons) in Pakistan.
In the past, she has owned her independent clinic named “NORTHSHORE
RHEUMATOLOGY, L.L.C” in Covington, Louisiana, United States, where she
has worked as Ceo & Director for five years and returned to Pakistan in
2009 to serve the nation with her vast skills gained by working as a medical
professional in technologically advanced countries such as the United
States of America.
Activism
Saliha Ishaq has a proactive approach when it comes to raising awareness
to the masses and makes use of every available platform to fulfill this
purpose. She firmly believes in educating men & women of different age
groups across Pakistan so that they can be empowered to make better
choices when it comes to their physical & mental health.
She constantly raises her voice & opinion on all the necessary forums for
the guidance of the general population and is extremely keen on improving
the standards of the health care sector in Pakistan.
She actively takes part in several types of research, conferences and loves
to write about the prevailing health care issues that are affecting a large
majority in Pakistan. She was also the guest speaker at the press
conference held in Karachi by Novartis in collaboration with the Pakistan
Society of Rheumatology & Arthritis Care Foundation.
The goal of the conference was to create awareness regarding Ankylosing
Spondylitis (AS) disease and the significant impact that it has on the lives of
millions of patients suffering globally. Health care experts from all over
Pakistan took part in this conference and Dr. Saliha was one of the special
guests at the event, speaking about the symptoms and treatments of
Ankylosing Spondylitis.
To serve the community better, orthopedic experts at Agha Khan University
Hospital held three-day specialized clinics in Quetta at the Serena Hotel.
The team of experts included some of Pakistan’s best orthopedic doctors
and surgeons including Dr. Pervaiz Hashmi, Dr. Masood Umer, Dr. Naveed
Baloch, Dr. Rizwan Haroon Rashid & Dr. Saliha Ishaq – Specialist
Rheumatologist.
The team also presented to and engaged with the IG and top tier of
Balochistan Police, Chamber of Commerce & Interim Chief Minister. They
briefed them on AKUH and its Orthopaedic team as well as their sub-
specialties & services, exchanged views and laid the foundation for
initiating programs & setting resources to serve people better in the
coming months and years.
She is also an illustrious media personality and a number of her Interviews
& short videos discussing various topics are available on electronic & social
