Bio

Col. (R) Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain Bhatti served as a general duty medical officer in the Pakistani army for over 26 years. During this time he worked in field hospitals, mass casualty scenarios and even war zones. Over the course of his medical career he has also spent a large number of hours training young neurosurgeons at the Ittefaq Hospital. Col. (R) Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain Bhatti served as the head of the Neuroscience department for just under 2 years.

Qualifications

Col. (R) Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain Bhatti got his Bachelors from Army Medical College Rawalpindi, where he also got his FCPS (General Surgery), MCPS (General Surgery) and FCPS (Neurosurgery). He has since gone on to get highly advanced training for spinal surgery from Germany.

Experience

Col. (R) Prof. Dr. Sabir Hussain Bhatti has over 20 years of medical experience under his belt. He has worked in both general surgery and highly specialised neurosurgery. He worked as a neurosurgeon at Military Hospital Abbottabad and Ittefaq Hospital. He served as a general surgeon during his service with the army in Azad Kashmir as well as at the Military Hospital Dera Ismail Khan. He has used this experience to become one of the best neurosurgeons in Lahore.

Activism

Dr. Bhatti has also spent a considerable amount of time raising awareness about various neurological conditions and procedures. This includes removing misconceptions about the dangers of these procedures such as the dangerous idea that brain or spinal surgery leaves lasting effects on the patient's nervous system, he has said in an interview with Oladoc that these surgeries are effective 90-95% of the time and have few side effects that cannot be easily overcome with modern techniques.
