Bio

Dr. Muhammad Haris Burki is widely known as one of the best sexologists in Lahore and is perhaps best known for introducing a combination of psychiatry and sexology in Pakistan. Not only does he actively treat patients, he is also often engaged in research, having given over 107 International presentations regarding sexology and psychology. Dr. Haris Burki is also a pioneer of using the CRSM training program to train young sexologists in Pakistan.

Qualifications

Dr. Muhammad Haris Burki is a highly qualified medical professional and has numerous qualifications and degrees. He got an MBBS in sexology as well as an MBBS in psychiatry from Allama Iqbal Medical College and his PHD from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines in Sri Lanka. He is also a proud member of the European Board of Sexual Medicine.

Experience

Dr. Muhammad Haris Burki has been working in his field for upwards of 24 years. He spent a little over a year of this time as the coordinator of the OD WPA CME program, where family physicians were being trained. Dr. Burki taught sexology during his time there. He has been the managing director of the Sexual Health Institute of Pakistan for the last ten years where he looks after administration, research and the clinical side of the institution.

Activism

Dr. Muhammad Haris Burki is also very active when it comes to spreading awareness regarding psychiatric, sexual or psychosexual issues. He was one of the first people to translate the declaration of sexual rights from English to Urdu. He is a pioneer of combining local more traditional treatments with modern medicine when it comes to sexology. He has also spent a considerable amount of time on raising awareness regarding often ignored female sexual issues, via various informative videos.

Special Interests

Dr Haris Burki specialises in the relationship between psychological issues and sexual issues and is thus capable of treating anything that falls within either of the two realms. He also offers marriage counselling with the help of another trained psychologist. Dr Burki has placed special emphasis on infertility treatments for both men and women, he uses modern medical techniques such as regenerative therapy and shock wave therapy.
