Drug Interactions

• Warfarin: Cefixime may increase the blood thinning effect and raise bleeding risk.
• Carbamazepine: Blood levels of carbamazepine may rise when taken alongside cefixime.
• Probenecid: Can increase cefixime levels in the blood by slowing its removal.
• Oral Typhoid Vaccine: Antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of live oral vaccines given around the same time.

Risks and warnings

• Allergic Reaction: Stop the suspension immediately if the child develops rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
• Kidney Impairment: Dose adjustment is needed in children with reduced kidney function.
