How to use Cefix DS suspension 200mg / 5ml?

• Shake the bottle well before every use
• Measure the dose with the marked cup or syringe provided
• Give the dose at evenly spaced times as advised by your doctor
• Store in the refrigerator once reconstituted and discard after 14 days
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early

Drug Interactions

• Warfarin: Cefixime can increase the blood thinning effect and raise bleeding risk.
• Carbamazepine: May raise carbamazepine levels when taken together.
• Oral contraceptives: Antibiotics may reduce the reliability of birth control pills.
• Probenecid: Can increase cefixime blood levels by slowing its clearance.

Risks and warnings

• Penicillin allergy: Children allergic to penicillin may also react to cefixime due to cross sensitivity.
• Kidney impairment: Dose adjustment is needed in patients with reduced kidney function.
