Cinklare Suspension 100mg / 5ml Benefits
- Liquid form makes accurate dosing easier for young children
- Once or twice daily dosing supports better compliance in pediatric patients
- Effective against common childhood bacterial pathogens
- Stable against many bacterial beta lactamase enzymes
- Widely trusted pediatric option for typhoid fever in Pakistan
What Experts Say
Cefixime binds to penicillin binding proteins on the bacterial cell wall, halting the final steps of cell wall synthesis so the bacterium weakens and dies. This structure keeps it stable against many bacterial beta lactamase enzymes, one reason pediatricians reach for it when a simpler antibiotic has not worked.
Dosing in children is calculated by body weight, typically around 8mg per kilogram per day. Once reconstituted with water, the suspension must be shaken well before every dose and kept refrigerated, since it can lose potency if left at room temperature too long. Pediatricians also watch for loose stools, a common but usually mild effect in young children.
Pakistan continues to see a high burden of typhoid fever in children, including strains resistant to older first line antibiotics. Oral suspensions of third generation cephalosporins like cefixime allow outpatient treatment in many uncomplicated cases. Physicians emphasize finishing the full course, since stopping early raises the risk of relapse and resistance.
