How to use Lokit Capsule 2mg?
- Adults: take an initial dose of 4mg, meaning two Lokit Capsule 2mg, at the start of diarrhea
- Follow with 2mg, one capsule, after each loose stool that follows
- Do not exceed a maximum of 16mg, eight capsules, in twenty four hours for over the counter use
- Not recommended for children under 12 years unless a doctor advises otherwise
- Stop the medicine and consult a doctor if diarrhea continues beyond two days
- Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water, with or without food
Drug Interactions
- Quinidine: Raises Loperamide levels in the blood and increases the risk of heart related side effects
- Ritonavir and other CYP3A4 inhibitors: Can increase Loperamide blood levels, needing caution with combined use
- Itraconazole and ketoconazole: May raise Loperamide exposure through the same metabolic pathway
