How to use Piriton Syrup 120ml?

• Shake the bottle well before measuring each dose
• Use the marked measuring cup or oral syringe provided, not a household spoon
• Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml every 4 to 6 hours, maximum 60ml in 24 hours
• Children 6 to 12 years: 5ml every 4 to 6 hours, maximum 30ml in 24 hours
• Children 2 to 6 years: 2.5ml every 4 to 6 hours, maximum 15ml in 24 hours, only if advised by a doctor
• Children 1 to 2 years: 2.5ml twice daily, maximum 5ml in 24 hours, only if advised by a doctor
• Not recommended for children under 1 year
• Can be taken with or without food
• Do not use continuously for more than two weeks without consulting a doctor

Drug Interactions

• Increased sedation when combined with alcohol
• Increased sedation when combined with sleeping pills, benzodiazepines or other sedating antihistamines
• Increased sedation when combined with opioid painkillers
• Should not be combined with monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants or used within 14 days of stopping one
• Additive drowsiness with tricyclic antidepressants
• May increase anticholinergic side effects when combined with other anticholinergic drugs
• Central nervous system depressants can increase the risk of excessive drowsiness and slowed breathing
