Continous Hiccups

Asked for Male, 28 years

I am having continuous hiccups since yesterday and this has never happened before. I have tried finding a possible reason and so far it seems dangerous. Kindly, help me in this regard? What should I do and to whom should I go?

Dear Patient,

There is a muscle-like sheet separating the lungs from the digestive system called the diaphragm. When this gets irritated then we experience hiccups. This is a non-alarming condition and settles itself. However it can get very uncomfortable n in case of continuous hiccups, I/V Risek or Inj Maxalon is recommended. A medical specialist/Emergency room is the place to go when experiencing constant hiccups.
